Karen Robinson, McDonald’s Australia Ltd, joins the Allergen Bureau Board

The Allergen Bureau welcomes Karen Robinson, National Quality Manager for ANZ McDonald’s Australia Limited, as an Invited Director of the Allergen Bureau Board. Karen brings a wealth of skills and experience to the Board. Karen is responsible for the quality management of products and services for McDonald’s ANZ, manages a team of QA Managers and has the responsibility for supplier management as well as quality management of restaurant operations. Prior to joining McDonald’s, Karen worked with Goodman Fielder for 12 years where she held the role of National Quality Manager in the Goodman Fielder Commercial division. We look forward to working with Karen and thank her and McDonald’s for their support. As an Invited Director, Karen will hold office until the next annual general meeting (scheduled for 1 October 2015) when an election will be held to fill Board vacancies.

The appointment of Karen to the Board follows the resignation of Dr Roger Bektash, Mars Food Australia. Roger has been an Allergen Bureau Director since 2013, serving as Honorary Secretary and Company Secretary during this time. It has been a privilege to have someone with so much expertise and influence willing to help drive Allergen Bureau projects and initiatives. Roger is a calm considered thinker and has mentored many throughout the food industry always demonstrating broad collaboration and influence in the pre-competitive environment. Roger’s influence and commitment to the Allergen Bureau ensures that we continue to have a strong voice in the food safety world. Roger is leaving the Allergen Bureau Board to focus on a new opportunity within MARS. We would like to thank Roger for his leadership his endless influence across the industry and his strong commitment to making the food industry safe, innovative and world class.
