Voluntary Incidental Trace Allergen Labelling

The Allergen Bureau’s VITAL® (Voluntary Incidental Trace Allergen Labelling) Program is a standardised allergen risk assessment process for food industry.

The VITAL Program

The VITAL Program has been developed to provide a risk-based methodology for food manufacturers to use in assessing the impact of allergen cross contact and to provide appropriate precautionary allergen labelling (PAL) in the form of the precautionary statement ‘May be present: allergen x, allergen y.’
