Allergen Bureau’s President Kirsten Grinter recently presented on the VITAL Program at the Finnish Society of Food Sciences. Kirsten covered the key components of the VITAL program including cross contact allergens, reference doses and amounts, action levels and precautionary allergen labelling (PAL) in detail as well as the Allergen Bureau resources available. The VITAL Program provides a consistent methodology for food industry to assess the impact of allergen cross contact and provide appropriate precautionary allergen labelling on their products.
