Progress, Purpose & Collaboration
The final session of FAMS 2025, “Attempting to Qualify the Perceived Level of Progress in Food Allergen Management“, brought together leading voices across science, healthcare, industry, and regulation. Chaired by Prof.r Samuel Godefroy (GFoRSS), the panel reflected on progress made—and the critical work still ahead.
From tools and training, to precautionary labelling and the “Allergen Triangle,” key themes included trust, pragmatic action, global collaboration, next-gen
education, and reframing risk. The resounding message: true progress means prioritising collaboration over isolation, science over silence, and purpose over perfection.
Closing the conference, Jasmine Lacis-Lee, President of the Allergen Bureau, offered a heartfelt thank you to all delegates, speakers, sponsors, partners, and exhibitors. Special recognition was given to James Roberts, Caroline Gray, Alice Lee, Lisa Clark (the FAMS Committee), UNSW, the National Measurement Institute, and the Iceberg Events team for bringing this global community together with passion and precision.
Jasmine also teased exciting plans for FAMS 2027—possibly in Melbourne—with emerging themes of trust, supply chain consistency, taking the leap, simplification, and a return to the basics.
Finally, all members are invited to join the Allergen Bureau’s 20th anniversary AGM this October 23rd —a milestone moment to reflect, recognise, and look forward.
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey.
