The Allergen Bureau is sad to farewell long-time Director Debbie Hawkes from Hawkins Watts, who is stepping down from the Board after eight years of outstanding service.
Debbie’s contribution has been both steady and ground-breaking, and she has been instrumental in the success of the VITAL® Program. She designed the very first VITAL spreadsheet—complete with formulas, macros, and the IT logic that ultimately evolved into the VITAL Online program used today.
In recent years, Debbie has served as the Allergen Bureau Treasurer, and applied her understanding of IT systems to help ensure VITAL Online continues to keep pace with the fast-changing digital environment. Beyond her technical expertise, Debbie has assisted the Allergen Bureau at FAMS and represented us at industry forums, consistently bringing a thoughtful, reasoned voice to Board discussions.
The current Board extends its sincere thanks for her valued contribution and to Hawkins Watts for supporting Debbie’s long-standing involvement with the Allergen Bureau. Her insight and company will be greatly missed, although we are extremely thankful is will continue to be the Hawkin’s Watts member contact.
