Food Allergy Week 2026

In May, Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia led Food Allergy Week 2026 to help raise awareness of food allergy and anaphylaxis across Australia.

Australia continues to have one of the highest rates of food allergy and hospital anaphylaxis admissions in the world, with almost 2 million Australians living with food allergy and more than 11,500 anaphylaxis presentations to emergency departments each year.

The 2026 campaign focused on anaphylaxis awareness and emergency response under the theme:

Recognise the signs, be ready to react

During the week, the Allergen Bureau supported Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia in helping raise awareness and promoting access to practical education resources, including the free online Adrenaline Hub designed to help Australians recognise the signs of anaphylaxis and respond in an emergency.

Awareness and education continue to play an important role in helping reduce the risk of allergic reactions and improving safety outcomes for people living with food allergy.
