The Allergen Bureau Appoints New Allergen Bureau Manager – Lisa Clark

The Allergen Bureau is pleased to announce that Lisa Clark is joining the Allergen Bureau as Allergen Bureau Manager.

Lisa has worked for many years in various Food Industry roles, primarily in Quality and Innovation roles for leading FMCG – Peters Ice Cream, Nestle Dairy products, Goodman Fielder, Kraft Foods, SPC Ardmona and Simplot Australia. Most recently, Lisa was responsible for assisting Simplot Australia with food safety and technical support, working across many aspects of risk assessment, management, and communication.  The part of her role that gave her the most pleasure was working with colleagues to assist them in solving problems and helping them on their continuous improvement journeys. This depth of experience and knowledge will be a huge asset to the Allergen Bureau and our members, knowing firsthand the issues and challenges in allergen management.

“I have loved learning about allergen management, allergen risk assessment, labelling, and tackling those interesting manufacturing challenges. On my journey I have been so grateful to the Allergen Bureau, an organisation I have reached out many times, for help on diverse topics from testing and cleaning, to setting up processing profiles. I am thrilled to work with such a great team of experts, and use my skills and knowledge to now support other businesses on their journey” says Clark

Please join us in welcoming Lisa to the fort.

The Allergen Bureau would also like to take this opportunity to say a sincere thank you to our departing Manager Ray Murphy. I am sure our members will join us in celebrating the marvellous job and significant contribution that Ray has not only made to the Allergen Bureau but the wider food industry. A driver of significant change, Ray has helped grow the Allergen Bureau membership base to improve financial sustainability while taking industry guidance to the next level.

“I have thrived on being the first point of contact for food industry enquiries about food allergen management and labelling and very proud of the industry guidance and resources we have developed to provide best practice food allergen management guidance for the food industry.” says Murphy.

Ray has been integral in managing the transition of the VITAL Calculator from an Excel spreadsheet to the web-based platform VITAL Online in 2015 – going on to manage the rebuild of VITAL Online new web-based platform and launch of our new website in 2021. Ray delivered a highly successful FAMS2019, the 3rd Food Allergen Management Symposium in Melbourne, and has been paramount in transitioning the Allergen Bureau to be an incorporated not-for-profit organisation.

We wish Ray well in his new role and thank him for his support.
