The Allergen Bureau is always looking for ways to support industry to ensure employees and employers have allergen knowledge and understanding of both why an Allergen Management Plan is critical in any food business, and how to develop one.
Recently the Allergen Bureau completed a two-part presentation as a part of the TAFE NSW Spotlight Series to assist educational and teaching staff maintain industry currency.
The information presented provided new skills and knowledge in relation to food allergens and the risk management processes that have now been included in a number of food units that teachers must deliver in food and beverage qualifications. The training armed TAFE NSW teachers with the latest knowledge in the science underpinning allergy, and the latest best practices to ensure allergens are controlled in food manufacturing, food service and catering facilities.
