Thank you to Allergen Bureau’s Nicole Koek, who spent time last week lecturing final year engineering students at UNSW — covering food allergens, cross-contact in manufacturing, the VITAL Online and VITAL Program, and the range of resources the Allergen Bureau offers industry. Nicole also took students hands-on through recipe and food processing scenarios in VITAL Online, giving them practical experience with the tool shaping allergen risk management across the industry.
It was fantastic to see the next generation of food engineers engaging with allergen management this early in their careers. Thank you also to Professor Alice Lee and Ernest Tse (pictured with Nicole).
